Course Summary
Are you interested in working in the entertainment industry? Want to be a sports coach, personal trainer or Sports Physiotherapist? VET Dance equips you with relevant industry knowledge and practices. You will undertake a mixture of technique and performance-based learning as well as theory. You’ll develop insight into preparing for dance performances and finding work in the industry. You will study and perform a mixture of styles, focusing on Jazz and Contemporary.
VCE: Unit 1, Unit 2 and Unit 3 & 4 sequence available
ATAR Contribution: Unit 3 & 4 students complete scored assessments and an exam to attain a Study Score that contributes to an ATAR
VCAL: Hours credited towards VCAL Industry Skills Strand
VET: CUA20113 Certificate II in Dance
Learning Activities & Assessment
- Develop an understanding of recent dance industry knowledge
- Develop an understanding of occupational health and safety relevant to the dance industry
- Investigate career transition options in the Dance industry
- Enhance skills in Dance techniques and body conditioning
- Develop theoretical knowledge and skills for a variety of areas in the entertainment industry
- Develop an understanding of Anatomy, Physiology and Nutrition and their roles in performance development
