Course Summary

Are you looking at employment in the Hospitality Industry? Want to be a Food Scientist? Year 10 Foods/Hospitality provides you with an introduction to the hospitality and food industry. You will learn about the selection of ingredients, basic knife skills, Occupational Health and safety in the kitchen, and food planning, preparation and presentation. Also, you will develop skills and knowledge through investigating and designing food items and practical preparation of a range of meals. This subject prepares you for VCE Food Studies and/or VET Hospitality.

Learning Activities & Assessment

  • Investigate safe food handling, cultural foods, healthy meals and environmental impacts of preparation and serving of the food we eat
  • Design, produce and evaluate a range of meals
