VET Subjects

Wodonga Senior Secondary College (WSSC), supported by the Victorian Government, offers nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs as part of your senior secondary studies. This means you can earn industry-relevant qualifications alongside your VCE, VCE VM, or VPC, giving you a head start in your chosen career.

Our flexible two-year programs can be undertaken in Years 10, 11, or 12, allowing you to tailor your studies to your individual needs and goals. WSSC’s passionate and experienced VET teachers will equip you with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience you need to thrive in your chosen field.

We partner with leading Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to offer a wide range of industry-aligned programs, ensuring you gain the skills and qualifications highly sought-after in the Wodonga community.

Wodonga Senior Secondary College offer VET subjects in:

  • Automotive, Construction and Engineering
  • Community and allied health services
  • Creative industries, digital, visual arts and sound production
  • Hair, Beauty and Barbering
  • Hospitality
  • Sport and Recreation
  • Early Childhood Education & Care
  • Laboratory skills

Successful completion of WSSC VET programs can provide students with:

  • A nationally recognised qualification or a Statement of Attainment (SoA) that can lead to pathways into employment and/or further VET qualifications or training.
  • A Statement of Results issued by the VCAA outlining the Units of Competency completed
  • Credits towards a VCE, VCE VM or VPC certificate issued by the VCAA
  • ATAR contributions as primary study scores or increments (select Certs ONLY)

Student’s value WSSC VET programs because they:

  • allows them to combine general and vocational studies which for many, provides a practical focus in a range of industry areas
  • provides direct experience of business and industry
  • enables them to explore training in areas that will enhance their pathway choices.

Employer’s value WSSC Vet programs because they:

  • contributes to the development of entry level skills for their industry
  • provides students with a practical and focused introduction to workplace requirements
  • enhances the employability of students
  • enables industry to contribute to educational programs in schools
  • enables industry to participate in local community networks.

VCE VM students must complete at least 1 sequence (Unit 1 & 2) of a VET subject.

2025 Skill Set Offerings

In 2025 all students will be able to acquirer the following skill sets:

  • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) – NSW
  • Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card)
  • First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011)

Enrolment and Fees

Students must enrol in VASS before the end of February for these course to be subsidised. Full fees apply for student enrolling after the end of February course will by RSA – $205, White Card – $150 and First Aid – $100.
