Year 10

Year 10

All students enrolling in Year 10 at Wodonga Senior Secondary College will commence a Year 10 program in line with Victorian Curriculum Assessment Authority requirements. A standard Year 10 program comprises five core subjects and 2 electives each semester. Core subjects include Maths, Science, English, Humanities and Student Agency. A range of elective subjects at Year 10 can be selected from the Arts, Technology, HPE and Languages. Students have the opportunity to apply for Advanced Maths, Science, English and/or Humanities. Student can also apply to study a VCE or VET subject. If the student’s application is successful, they will only need to pick one elective each semester. This has been designed to ensure the greatest flexibility in individualising student pathways and to increase engagement, opportunities and successful outcomes.

To be eligible for Advanced, VET and/or VCE subjects, students will need to demonstrate consistent effort, effective study habits, resilience and a commitment to continuous improvement. Suitability for these subjects will be determined through a combination of teacher recommendations and academic achievement, ensuring students are well placed for success in their chosen pathway.
