Course Summary

Do you enjoy making things out of metal? Good with your hands? Year 10 Engineering will provide you with an introduction to the practical applications, principles and concepts of the engineering workshops processes. You will undertake metal projects in the workshop using industry-standard tools and machines. This unit leads into VET Engineering or VCE Systems Engineering.

Learning Activities & Assessment

  • Explore principles and concepts of engineering workshop processes
  • Understand safety in the workshop
  • Develop sheet metal fabrication and machining skills
  • Use a range of hand tools, power tools and engineering machining equipment
  • Compile a folio containing all work, notes and handout materials
